Welcome to Year 1

For Year 1, the school day starts at 8:55am and finishes at 3:25pm.

Mrs Evans is the class teacher in Hawthorn Class.

Mrs Wood and Mrs Clark are the class teachers in Birch Class.

PE Days

During the Spring Term (January to Easter), Year 1 will have PE outside on a Monday afternoon and inside on a Wednesday morning. They should come to school dressed in their PE kit on these days please. Earrings should be removed and long hair should be tied back. 

The Reception and Year 1 Disco is taking place on Thursday 12th February 2026 from 3:30 - 4:45pm. Details on how to book your child's place will follow nearer the time. 

World Book Day is on Thursday 5th March 2026. Please come dressed as your favourite book character or wear your pyjamas for the day. 

Parent's evening takes place on Tuesday 10th and Thursday 12th March 2026.

The EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 Sports Afternoon will take place on Tuesday 19th May 2026 from 1:30pm until the end of the school day. 

The Phonics Screening Check takes place in week beginning 8th June 2026. There is a link to an information leaflet at the bottom of this page.

The end of Year 1 celebration event will take place in classrooms on Monday 29th June 2026 at 3pm.

End of year reports will be sent out to parents on Friday 10th July 2026.
